Registration services have expanded across the province for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) coverage.

Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan Services available at KVP:

• New Account Creations (Temporary Card issued during service)
• Account Changes (Address, Name, Temporary Absences, etc)
• Additions of Newborns
• Dependant Additions or Deletions
• Additions of Spouse through Marriage
• Cancellation of Registration (i.e. due to death, leaving Alberta, etc.)
• Registration Reinstatements
• Dependent Reinstatements
• Duplicate Card Requests
• Blue Cross Non-Group Coverage (Starts/Stops)
• Validate age for Senior's Coverage
• Palliative Care Information
• MS Drug Coverage Information
• Premium Subsidy Information
• Out of the Country Expense Claims Available

Alberta Health Care services cannot be processed on Saturdays, however we will happily accept papers/documents for processing on Monday!

All applicants must present original, acceptable documents to prove their Alberta Residency, Identity, and Legal Entitlement to be in Canada.

Alberta Residency:

• Current AISH card
• Current Alberta drivers licence
• Current income support card
• Current bills for an Alberta residence(within last six months)
  • Utility
  • Telephone(not including mobility)
  • Gas
  • Cable or Satellite
• Current Alberta documents
  • Residential Property tax bill
  • Residential land title
  • Residential mortgage
  • Residential lease agreement
  • Residential insurance
  • Tenant insurance

Proof of Identity:

• Canadian passport
• Canadian citizenship card/certificate
• Permanent Resident Card
• Federal identification card
  • Department of National Defense
  • Royal Canadian Mounted Police
  • First Nations/Inuit
• Current Alberta drivers licence
• Non-Canadian passport
• Identification cards
  • Municipal, provincial/territorial or federal government employee card
  • Student ID card
  • Drivers licence from another province/territory
  • Alberta Registries ID card.
